Elliptical Wheels Squeaking

I have a pro form 14 0 mme elliptical.

Elliptical wheels squeaking.

It is so loud it makes the workout very annoying even with music playing. Three weeks ago we purchased an elliptical the nordictrack 9 5. Is it coming from the wheels or from the gear mechanism. As it happens the squeaking noise was caused by dust collecting in the back part of my machine where the belt meets the wheels.

Not sure what to do. Regular maintenance of your elliptical is necessary to extend the life of your machine and allow it to continue to function properly. Where is the squeak coming from. If it s coming from the wheels you have a few options.

You could probably use a silicon based lubricant on it. Apply a thin coat of all purpose grease to pivot points on the pedal arms and handle bars to eliminate squeaks. The plastic wheels seem to be causing the squeaking. It sounds like it is coming from beneath the pedals.
